No more sleeping in!!!
Hello fellow bloggers and readers!!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic summer and ready to switch gears to serious study mode. I was in summer school so I haven’t quite had the chance to turn my brain off to drool mode. Have no fear! There’s always the Christmas break to aim for.
I’m a 2nd year chemistry major and will have links for help with chemistry and related subjects. If you know of any links that would be helpful, please feel free to post it!
Cheers to a great fall semester!
The ability to accept failures
I have written a few articles to post but I’m a perfectionist mixed with procrastination. Together this makes for a very reluctant woman to post her ideas. I’ve been afraid to be criticized and told I’m a failure. I know I have failed in other ways, why add another level of failure?
I would like to thank my husband for giving me the push to accept my failures no matter what. He said without our failures we are unable to grow and learn. Thank you, Patrick. So I ask you to read what I’m about to post and I look forward to your comments and honesty. But if you include cookie recipes in your critique, I can almost promise you a new and improved blogger will be born…. Yes, bribery is allowed on this blog. It’s my blog and I’ll bribe if I want to!
Thank you!

South paws and mechanical pencils – Nerd Alert

what to do about that small eraser. It’s small and is gone in 7 nanoseconds, then you’re duck on a junebug looking for something to wipe away those mistakes. Well before today, I was in the habit of having a Pentel Clic eraser. It’s a push up eraser that is completely separate from the mechanical pencil. It’s not convenient but it’s efficient and proven to not smear. I tried my math tutor’s patience today. She observed that a lot of my time was spent going from pencil to eraser. While she said I was quick with both and was impressed with the speed of substituting one for the other, she thought my time erasing could be reduced exponentially if I held the eraser in my right hand. CONSTANTLY.Sounds easy, right?
Yeah, you try it.
Using your non-dominant hand, is like trying to use the toilet paper with your other hand. IT AIN’T HAPPENING. For the next twenty minutes, my tutor and I had a ball laughing at my shortage of ambidextrous (Thank you, Google spell check.) Just for an eraser. EVERYTHING was affected. Everything! Head tilting had to be changed, I’m positive eyes were crossed but the most embarrassing aspect was admitting defeat. To an eraser.
I’m not giving up. I will conquer holding the eraser in my right hand.

Computer Gaming – Good or Bad?
I’m embarrassed to admit it but I love computer games. I can remember before I had a kid spending all day Saturday and Sunday glued to the computer screen devoted to killing monsters in Quake 1 and 2. I had mastered all levels and would move from one game to the next. Quake, Thief, Worms 2, Diablo 2 and Unreal were all my victims on the weekend. However, as I aged and progressed from 1st person shooter to actually growing up I came to understand not much came from gaming but pure bliss. Now as my son starts playing games I see his bliss with each game he masters. How much do I expose him to the world of gaming? Do I have him avoid violent games until he understands reality from fantasy? This is a more of a random thought and any comments are appreciated. Thank you.
